Climbing in Wipptal – conquer the summits

We present two climbing areas: The Stafflacher Wand fixed rope route and the St. Magdalena climbing garden

Whilst some people choose to take the easy to challenging hiking routes through the Wipptal Mountains, others seek something much more adventurous. In Wipptal climbing fans will find everything they could possibly desire with varied and diverse fixed rope routes and adventurous climbing tours.

Experience the newest fixed rope route in Tyrol, just 10 minutes away from the Hotel. The Stafflacher Wand fixed rope route has proven to be a real secret tip with its diverse challenges and is popular with both young and old.

The St. Magdalena climbing garden in the Gschnitz vaqlley is also a very popular place for fun and hobby climbers. With 15 constructed climbing routes both beginners and experts will all find the right climb to suit them.

And if the weather isn’t ideal for outdoor climbing then there is the JuFa indoor climbing hall in Steinach which provides just the same climbing feeling.

Stafflacher Wand Fixed Rope Route

  • 650 climbing metres
  • Level of difficulty C (medium-difficult)
  • Duration approx. 2 to 3 hours

St. Magdalena Climbing Garden

  • 18 Routes
  • Level of difficulty 3 to 7, mostly 5 and 6
